Our History

Touchstone Tonewoods has been trading since 1979. Its parent company, Stentor Music Co Ltd had been supplying wood, tools and parts to professional makers and repairers for many years before that, but recognised the need for a dedicated business to supply these and the fast growing number of amateurs wanting to take this up as a hobby. Touchstone Tonewoods was set up as an associate company, trading from separate retail premises in Reigate. It was initially run by David Carroll, who is still involved in the purchasing and management of the business. In 1990 Touchstone moved onto the same site as Stentor Music Co Ltd and became a trading division of Stentor.
In forty years of trading, Touchstone Tonewoods has established a reputation for quality supplies and friendly, efficient service.
Today we supply instrument tonewood, luthier parts, tools and materials throughout the UK and worldwide.
